What is Coaching and How does it work?

A life coach is a type of wellness professional who helps people make progress in their lives in order to attain greater fulfillment. Life coaches aid their clients in improving their relationships, careers, and day-to-day lives.

Life coaches can help you clarify your goals, identify the obstacles holding you back, and then come up with strategies for overcoming each obstacle. In creating these strategies, life coaches target your unique skills and gifts. By helping you to make the most of your strengths, life coaches provide the support you need to achieve long-lasting change.

Who should consider working with a Mental Health Coach?

A lot of people seek out life coaches for guidance in navigating a significant life change, such as taking on a new career. In plenty of cases, however, people turn to life coaches simply for help in building a happier, more meaningful life. There are a number of indications that working with a mental health coach could be helpful for you. These signs include:

  • Frequent irritability
  • High levels of stress, depression or anxiety
  • Inability to break bad habits
  • Lack of fulfillment in your life
  • Persistent feeling of dissatisfaction
  • Loss of a loved one
  • family issues
Where are coaching sessions held?

Coaching sessions can be held via google meet (virtually), over the phone (WhatsApp). Schedule cost and convenience may dictate a client’s choice.

How many sessions does it usually take?

This is dependent on your starting point and also your short-term and long-term goals. Each client is different and in my practice I do not adopt a “one size fits all approach” or coaching program as some coaches do.

Our work together may take between one session to three months to a whole year. This really depends on you and whether you are looking to resolve a targeted specific problem or a complete transformation on many aspects of your life. Obviously funding availability will also play a part in this.

Do you do psychotherapy in your practice?

No, I do not engage in psychotherapy, diagnosis or treatment of mental health disorders. Unlike mental health coaches, therapists and other mental health professionals focus on, treating mental health conditions, and helping people work through trauma and other issues from their past. While working with me as your mental health coach I help you to deal with certain unresolved issues.

What age-groups do you work with?

I work with adults and teens which means from the ages of 13 years to age 65. Teens between the ages of 13 and before the age of 18 parent/guardian will need to sign a parental consent form.

What is the cost of your services?

I have 4 coaching packages available: Platinum to the bronze package. Platinum starts at $100USD, Gold Package $75USD, Silver package $60USD and the bronze package which is $30USD, this package is via telephone only (WhatsApp) no virtual sessions. Selected sessions are per  1 hour session with any e-mail contact between sessions free of charge. For those who may not be able to afford the higher package due to financial hardship the bronze package is ideal with 45 minutes per session.

What about Confidentiality?

Me as your coach it’s my duty to not disclose any information obtained during the course of the coaching relationship without the express permission of you the client. The right to confidentiality belongs to the client, not to me as a coach.
